See examples of 4 very distinct styles of website graphics you can select from in order to create a unique, eye-popping design as well as some excellent inspiration sites.

There are many elements that designers can consider in creating a website design. Readable text, suitable icons, graphics, background colors or textures, and illustrations. Our eyes are much more easily attracted by designed shapes or figures rather than just plain text. This makes illustrations a very important part of design, as well as in web design. The type of illustrations in web designs may vary depending on the company’s context or concept.

Based on the type and technique, illustrations are classified into four types. Below is a short explanation and examples of each type of illustration used in web designs.

1. Photos

Customers want to see and take a deep look before they buy a certain product. Using photos for the main illustration on a website will be perfect for most companies or website projects especially the ones related to food and beverages.

2. Drawing/Illustrations

For a fantasy effect, many websites use drawings and illustrations. Creatives like illustrations, and graphic designers seem to love using this technique for their websites, Drawings and Illustrations are also suitable for baby or kid products as well.

3. Digital Illustrations

Sometimes people love to combine photos and illustrations for their website. Other than using just pictures, some designers choose to use both professional and creative imagery giving double the impression on their site.

4. Collage

In a collage, there are usually many shapes, objects or figures in one page. Those objects are arranged and combined to create a single or group of figures. This type of illustration may not suit the business looking website, but it will be perfect for sport (extreme sport) company websites, creative talent/artist websites, or vintage concept websites.
