Lynx Viewer Tool
Displays a Lynx view of a web page via right-click or Tool menu. With just one click and without leaving the page (RightLynx opens in a new, small window), preview the page you are on with a Lynx Viewer. You can see what what a page will look like when viewed with Lynx, a text-mode web browser. It is also presumably, how search engines see your site. In addition, it can help determine if web pages are accessible to the vision impaired. Accessibility Toolbar The Mozilla/Firefox Accessibility Extension makes it easier for people with a disability to view and navigate web content. Developers can use the toolbar to check their structural markup to make sure it matches the page content. TAW3 Web Accessibility Test TAW3 with a click allows to verify, with just a click, the accessibility of the Web sites that you are visiting, by means of the TAW3 online service (www.tawdis.net) and making use of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 1.0). Colour Contrast Analyser Does exactly what it says on the tin... Web Analytics Solution Profiler Provides detailed information about the data being collected trough Query String and Cookies by web analytics solutions. Now covers 68 solutions, including Google Analytics, Omniture SiteCatalyst, Visual Sciences HBX, Coremetrics, see the home page for a complete list. Unicode Converter / Input Tool Converts entities or character references (hex and dec) into Unicode and back; has Unicode lookup and chart view FireFTP FireFTP is a free, secure, cross-platform FTP client for Mozilla Firefox which provides easy and intuitive access to FTP servers. L.O.R.I - Life of Request Info 'lori' can tell you how long it takes to load a page. Useful for web developers who are working on profiling, optimizing a web site. Linkification Converts text links into genuine, clickable links... Search Status SearchStatus is a toolbar extension for Firefox and Mozilla that allows you to see how any and every website in the world is performing. Designed for the highly specialised needs of search engine marketers, this toolbar provides extensive search-related information about a site, all conveniently displayed in one discreet and compact toolbar. For every site you visit using, SearchStatus lets you view its Google PageRank, Google Category, Alexa popularity ranking, Compete.com ranking, Alexa incoming links, Alexa related links and backward links from Google, Yahoo! and MSN. This combined search-related information means you can view not only the link importance of a site (according to Google), but also its traffic importance (according to Alexa), so providing a balanced view of site efficancy. Addblock Plus - gets rid of nasty, intrusive advertising, which you can override on sites you like. Speeds up browsing as the images aren't served, therefore helping with bandwidth. British English Dictionary - helps you spell proper in the Queen's English. ColorZilla - simple colour picker that allows you to lift colours from a website and convert it to HEX or RGB. Fasterfox - speeds up Firefox with some judicious hacks. You can vary it from slight to heavy, but beware heavy can make your system unstable. IE Tab - why use IE's unusable and bland GUI, when you can make it work in Firefox? MeasureIt - gives you a simple measuring tool to see how big something is on-screen. Screen grab! - takes full size or visible frame screenshots in PNG or JPG formats. Gets rid of all the clutter (toolbars, buttons, cursors etc) so your screenies look great! And a useful site..... My two favorites are
1. Firebug Firebug integrates with Firefox to put a wealth of development tools at your fingertips while you browse. You can edit, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, and JavaScript live in any web page. 2. HTML Validator Validates HTML in Firefox. Shows validation errors in View->Page Source There are some on your list that I definately need to check out. |

OMG I can't believe I forgot to include the web developer toolbar! *Hangs head in shame*
Maybe it was because I knew that any self respecting FF user would have it installed already, and my sub-concious decided it would just be a waste of space? (or of course, this could just be me trying to eplain away my stupidity!) Anyway, Will keep the list updated as and when I discover more. Kind Regards Scott -------------------- Light travels faster than sound.

One word of warning when using Yslow:
Do not become obsessed by the grade. Some of the performance optimisation tips are inappropriate for normal websites; they're really useful for websites with millions of visitors a day. I mean, are you seriously going to use a CDN for your blog? Read the documentation; there's some great ideas in there, but you need to understand them before you rush off to implement something that could actually harm your site's performance. For example: my website is lightning-fast, but it scored an F grade in Yslow. Although I'll be implementing some of the suggestions, others would be silly. |

Ok, I couldn't get hotmail live working with ff3. I sent off an e-mail to microsoft. This is what they replied.
1. Use the basic version of Windows Live Hotmail 2. Downgrade your browser version to Firefox 2 3. Install IEtab(add-on): i. Go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1419 ii. Click "Add to Firefox (Windows)" button on the page. iii. On the window that pops up, Click "Install Now" iv. A new window will pop up - after installation completes click "Restart Firefox" v. Firefox should restart with the "Add-ons" window open - close the "Add-ons" window by clicking the X in the upper right corner vi. Navigate to http://www.hotmail.com vii. Sign into your hotmail account viii. Once signed into your email account, go to Tools -> IE Tab Options ix. The URL field will be auto-populated, click "Add" x. Click OK xi. Click "Sign out" xii. Navigate back to http://www.hotmail.com xiii. Sign back into your hotmail account what about the first two. Oh yeah, like I am going to down grade. I know you guys had told me to install, but I didn't no it was for that. It is funny, that Microsoft actually told me how to get something working for ff -------------------- Finally squeeezin!!!!
