So simple yet it doesn't validate.

You can't put the <style> element anywhere but in the <head> of your document. Start with that.

1 thing I noticed is that you have

CODE

    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
}


Do you know what that does? If you did, you wouldn't be putting padding: 0 or margin: 0 everywhere in your css wink.gif

yeah i never used that so i just put margin and padding everywhere by habit :\

i validated it and it still is different in ie6? or am i missing something again lol.

If you want the whole document's padding to be 0 you need to place that in your body tag one time...

If your trying to use CSS to center an element you need to add "auto" after your 0 in padding.

my question is why in firefox does it do what i ask, then in ie6 the content is over an extra 10 pixels or so.

Oh, I forgot that ie can double the margin of a float adjacent to its container. So I set the margin to half of what I needed.

I didn't see your example/test but just wanted to point this out.

you can also change the display: block to display: inline and avoid those crappy css hacks because for some reason ie floats those properly, It just has trouble with blocks.

Granted, this doesn't always work for the specific item, but you can usually make it work and without using hacks in your css.
