I finally made up my mind to use different editor for my CSS programming...
Previously, I am using CodeLobster to code my ASP, PHP and CSS.

What other editors out there that exist specifically for editing CSS files?
I am talking about the coolest one like what mac user have, CSSEdit!

I want like that, but in window version :D
Cheers...

Why on earth would you want a specific editor
for CSS ?

All the professional Mac users I know use TextEdit,
which comes free with the OS. Not one of them would
pay €45 for a "CSS Editor" unless they were drunk ...

Some application handle things better if they are develop specifically for something!
Anyway... I found WeBuilder 2008, downloading the trial version!
They got the CSS version too called Rapid CSS 2008. Might give a try as well...

WeBuilder combines/support all languages (syntax coloring) from ASP, CSS, HTML, PHP, JavaScript, etc...
This is what I am looking for...

You're wrong. A lot of designers use Coda (like me and Karinne). It's 99$, well spent.

It may not have to be a solely CSS editor, but no web designer uses TextEdit for anything other than 2 second revisions. Furthermore, I bought skEdit based mostly on it's code completion of CSS and I don't regret paying for it one bit.

It's simply a matter of efficiency. Basic text editors work fine, but you can potentially save lots of time by using a more fully-featured editor. If you're working with your text editor all day, it makes sense to get one that increases your productivity -- even if you have to pay for it!

I prefer an all-in-one editor, rather than separate editors for each language.

If a text editor saves you time then it is makes up its cost.

Take Coda for example.
- Files appear in a tree view on the left side of the project. Must save at least 30 minutes daily compared to opening folders and double clicking files.
- Built in ftp. No longer need to download, open file, edit file, re-upload. Its all done in one window. great time saver.
- Syntax highlighter helps spot problems
- Auto complete saves a keystroke.

In a 40 hour week Coda makes up its cost in time savings.

Now, I personally would never use a CSS editor. Coda has got a built in CSS editor which I do not use. I just find bashing out commands and using auto complete is the quickest way for me.

For a text editor to be worth the change it must be easier to use and save you more time than what you are currently using. I just think, unless you do an incredibly amount of CSS there really is little point in getting a dedicated editor.

I have never quite understood the attraction of CSSEdit on the Mac. Maybe I will download the trial and have another look. I just use Textmate for all my coding. Have tried Coda and do like a lot of things about it though. I echo other people's comments above, I don't know any Mac coders that use TextEdit, even for small edits - although I'm sure some people do use it somewhere!

As a Textmate fan, I always recommened e-texteditor for a Windows as it has a lot of the same features as Textmate, and it beats it in some areas too.

Ooo, a thread raised from the dead :D.

I have recently switched to netbeans for everything (mainly cos all of my coding has been with Ubuntu). As far as a CSS editor.. I really don't see why people need a completely different editor for CSS. Its the simplest of all web languages.
