I'm working on a project which needs a dropdown menu. I don't want a JS-menu, 'cause it has to be put into a CMS, and I want to be able to edit the menu as quick as possible when needed AND I want it to be universal, so I can use it again for another site.

I've googled, and foud some tutorials, but they confuse me. Did someone ever create a menu like this?

Suckerfish is a popular way to do dropdown menus.

I have my own "cobbled together from different sources" version.

If you save the source you should be able to modify it to do what you want.

Note: it does use csshover.htc to make the hover work in IE6. Look at the body tag in the css to see how to use it.

I'm a big fan of this tutorial. It just works!
See if it's what you need.
I have used it on two of my sites and not had any problems at all.
It does come with an extra IE only css file too.

I use this one

http://www.cssplay.c...e_dropdown.html

on this site and it works like a charm. (Noted that the sub-menu used to be vertical but I changed it to horizontal ;) )

I have used suckerfish and have come across only one big which was a simple fix.

Just remember that its impossible to get a pure CSS drop down to work on IE6. As a result you will need a javascript file to get it working.
