Can anyone recommend some other good ones to help me design a decent site? Thank you -------------------- QUOTE I'm challenged enough without any extra weirdness in my life! |

With HTML and CSS i never really used a book. There is tons online. If you have a problem google is the answer 9/10 times!
I have brought books for PHP though. No way you can do that without having a reference. Try looking for tutorials that take you through how to make a site. http://www.subcide.com/tutorials/csslayout/ This one helped me understand the aspects of CSS alot better when i started. |

Can anyone recommend some other good ones to help me design a decent site? Books will give you the knowledge to build a website. Practice will help you design a decent site. Check out csszengarden.com for some CSS inspiration. -------------------- |

I own CSS the Missing Manual as everyone around here knows! I found it very useful when starting out.
I'd search the book for a feature and put it on my site! -------------------- |

The store is through Amazon so hopefully there's no "ridiculous postage bill".

Don't make me think & Search Engine visibility.
For technical books I typically go with O'Reilly as their content layout is most comfortable for me. Rich -------------------- |

Best three books I ever bought?
PHP 5 Objects, Patterns, and Practice - Matt Zandstra : This guy did his research and you can absolutely feel his passion for the subject. and two of the Visual Quickstart Guide series. DHTML & CSS - Jason Crawford Teague : Very good intro to CSS and manipulating CSS with DHTML MySQL - Larry Ulman : Great introduction to MySQL. I have many more 'Bibles' including the programmers guide to internet mail and programmers guide to HTTP but the above I read cover to cover during which time I was captivated and wanting to learn more. The other books I reference when required. -------------------- |
