Ok, I've been selling templates for years for people who pass by our site. But, I also have many different servers that we use for hosting our clients privately.

My trouble is that I've been testing some reseller accounts, dedicated, clustered servers and there does not seam to me that there is a one stop shop to allow me to sell domains, hosting, transfers to visitors that I don't know.

Trying a new one now for past 6 months.. OMG it's a nightmare so far.

1. You get a reseller account - ok
2. They give you a WHMCS Billing Software - hmm, HUGE!
3. You now have to have ENOM, Directi etc.. to offer all kinds of domains.

Also using another one - problem with them it's not automated. If you want to sell a domain, transfer or host it's all manual.. What the heck!

Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can offer this complete package and not have to be a total guru from planet knowitall to make these all work seamlessly without paying out the nose before one sale is made??

I know that this may seam silly, but if your paying for a service or selling a service you want your clients to get what they pay for and not have to follow up manually to make it work.. ugh!

Thanks!
Scott

Not at all. Well, I normally think of domains and hosting as two different things, although I guess we can lump them together. First, I would consider looking into our sponsor HostGator!

HostGator - HostGator has some great reseller plans available at good prices. The coolest thing is Cpanel/WHM, which are really the best to mange the domains on your account with. Try there demo of Cpanel and WHM you'll love it!

Site5 - Another good website host!

Finally, lumping the two together. The only one of these solutions I know of is the Godaddy.com option. Check it out here.

http://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/wwd_landing....dr=&ci=9057

That will let you sell domains, hosting, and loads more! Hope I have been of some help!

Thanks for the info on all that.

If I sell for another company then I loose up sales, future sales etc.. I'm trying my best to keep it all in house if you know what I mean.

I'm using WHM and Cpanel but the WHMCS seams to be more complicated then it's worth. Always an update you have to buy at least once a year and if it messes up you don't know.

For example:

I sold a client a domain name and everything went fine. A few minutes later I checked on it and my merchant account 2checkout sent the sale notice but the domain never registered. So, I had to quickly go buy it manually.

That's not cool at all.

Hmmm, that's weird. Yeah, I would recommend the godaddy.com option for ya then. It does everything for you! Then you can come and talk to us about SEO and getting the must needed exposure!

Hey Scott,
I have a HostGator reseller account and I'm pretty happy so far.

As for the Godaddy reseller account, I have one of those as well. If you want to view what it looks like you can visit my reseller site here:

DirectAZ Domains - Godaddy Domain and Reseller Site

They also offer a program to sell the reseller program, DirectAZ Pro - Godaddy reseller to re-sell domains and hosting

I'm happy with both reseller programs, you can choose the "look" of the site. You can also set your own prices for domains, hosting and several other products including SSL certs. Hope this helps,

-Jasontor

I used to supe at Godaddy so if you have any other questions about Godaddy & its products feel free to ask.

I've been using MediaTemple for years now & I have nothing but great things to say about them.

They have a Dedicated Virtual plan that will allow you to create as many sites as the machine can handle. The control is Plesk, so when you add site you automatically create a user administration section for you client to manage certain aspects of their plan. Which, of course, is customizable.

Hope this helps!
Rich

Well, I personally am a huge fan of Cpanel/WHM hosts, since that is the most popular, and in my opinion the best built domain control panel. Regardless, I'm all for HostGator and Site5, but from what you said above, it looks like Godaddy would be the best option.
