Hi Guys I’m looking for someone to do some php editing on a wordpress blog. I have asked for help to do it myself but not had any productive help on where to start and I don’t have that much time to be looking round the net for tutorials. The original topic is here.
Basically I need to modify an existing posting page or create a new one. I want the posts to be displayed like this http://www.vanman.co.uk/ or something similar to that. I want to use a 3 column blog with a fixed width rather than one the stretches. I don’t have much of a budget so little to no money would be a bonus. I’ve been told it’s not a very big job. PM me for more details. Cheers |

Wordpress is not a CMS, it is a blog:D As I mentioned in your post on the topic you should use a CMS where mods to do as you wish as available.
Look at something like Drupal or even Magento (a shopping cart). It wouldn't do well to try make Wordpress do what is required. -------------------- |

Ok thanks for that. I have decided to go with wordpress as I think this is more suited to the client and the purpose he has for the website. It’s also far less complicated for the client to use. So still looking for someone.

Actually, I think I'm going to have to go with Rakuli on this. Although Wordpress does let you handle content and static pages, it's purpose is to be a blogging engine. That being said, it is possible to use it as a CMS, just not meant for it. I'd go with Drupal or Joomla or something similar. Stick with the purpose of what a program is made for and you'll have a lot less problems...Just my opinion...

I'm probably going to sound like an ass here but was your opinion really worth bumping a 3 month old thread in the job forum? -------------------- |
