Hey guys,
I made this design about 4 or 5 years ago for Network Medical Systems and I'd love to hear some critiques. Please comment on my pictures below, not the link above. Thanks in advance, Rich Homepage: ![]() Sectional:

When we give critique, we give design plus coding feedback! You did not mention which part you want us to critique so I just assume you want a total coverage in our feedback
Ok, First thing that I notice is that you don't have any doctype and a character encoding. It is usually the first things a web programmer would write when they are starting to code a certain site.. You are using pure <table> elements for your site layout! Perhaps you could consider CSS tho I believe with all your latest knowledge in CSS and web programming, you could come up with a fresh look at this Cheers... -------------------- |

You've done a good job of transferring the design into code -- although CSS would be preferred to control the layout. I assume that if it 4 years old you don't really need to go back and change it
Your menu is impressive it is very sleek and neat. It could just be me but I have never liked dark blue/navy as a content text colour but your link colour is nice -- I think the links would look better with black or dark gray content text colour. The content layout is well handled with everything easily accessible. From a SEO and accessibility perspective, you only seem to be using the H1 header -- I would recommend having H2 & H3 as the content goes down the page, at the moment you are just using the H1 and the some styled text to emulate sub headings. On the whole it conveys its message well but I would suggest getting a doctype sorted and then trying to get rid of tables to be replaced with CSS. Cheers -------------------- |

Considering this is a 4-5 years old design, I have to say it's pretty good. I don't mind about the tables-design since propably we all used tables in layouts back then. A bit plain in colors and you can somehow see that it's actually that old website. At least it doesn't have any animated gifs or clipart images in it
If this would've been a recent design I would've complaint something but those 4-5 years forgive you just fine -------------------- |

Hey guys,
Thanks for the input! I think I confused things when I added the link to the site... I was really just looking for a critique on the graphics so I put it in the Graphics Critique & Squeeze forum. Yeah back then I was still getting started with CSS, and the site itself didn't require anything special. It seems so weird now to have done everything with nested table upon nested table! Thanks again! Rich -------------------- |
