I've read about it. It is supposed to be very easy to use. And you don't need any kind of scripting language on your server.
The downside is that it is a hosted solution. This means that cushy keeps the content of your website on their hosts together with your ftp account information. The system then scans the html pages on your server and identifies sections which are marked by a special CSS class. The user can update those sections on the Cushy server. When commited they are then uploaded to your web server. -------------------- Viventic Web Design and Application Development

Yeh this is what's making me think twice about it, on one hand it's a registered company, but just wanted to see if anyone had any experiences, good or bad, with them -------------------- |

I recently read about it in .net magazine. I don't like the idea of a third party having ftp access to client websites. Furthermore what happens if cushy vanishes. What happens to the website...
I think there are better solution's which stay under your control. -------------------- |

$28 per month
a domain that looks like this: acmedesign.clienteditor.com limited styling abilities... Those seem like negatives to me. -------------------- |

$28 per month I thought they also had a free version limited styling abilities... Is the design of the customers website limited, or only the design of the user interface? That would really be a definite negative point. -------------------- Viventic Web Design and Application Development

$28 per month Yeh i thought there was a free one as well :S a domain that looks like this: acmedesign.clienteditor.com You keep your own domain name though don't you, havn't heard about the .client editor section? limited styling abilities... I agree about this, but if the customer only wanted to change the text on the homepage for example, this would not matter. This isn't really off topic seeing as it is my topic Cheers for all the replys btw -------------------- |

Good idea but also having some negative sides as mentioned. There have been this kind of products in the past too but they never seem to attract people that much in the end alhtough this is the first one I've seen online. I think it was a Marcromedia (Adobe) product but can't remember the name anymore.

Looks too limited. There's nothing they have done there that couldn't have been done with another free CMS and a tiny bit of knowlage (copy, paste & FTP).
Nice idea though and It's very well designed but I'll be sticking with oi-core for the moment (My companies system). -------------------- Working @ On-idle - Technology by design.
