I would say build my own because I feel that you have more control over things and if something breaks (you should in theory) know how to fix it. It is also easier to add onto it. Plus you can customize it to your hearts content.

I say wordpress.
It is extremely easy to use! So if your primary goal is to have the blog instead of building your own from scratch, then wordpress is for you! -------------------- Stephen Nutt

Wordpress, like Joomla, Mambo, Xoops etc are so massively bloated for normal sized sites.
You really should check out Website Baker, it is by far the most superior CMS out there, which is simple and powerful. It is a joy to work with! At the moment my site is WP lol, but I am redesigning it soon with Website Baker in mind! -------------------- Craig Hamnett

I Tried the Open source cms demo of that, and was not all that impressed. Simon -------------------- Blog : The Net is Dying! | Forum: We Are Battlefield Heroes Forum

I would go with Wordpress also although I haven't tried anything else much. Wordpress seemed very easy to use yet very powerfull and it wasn't hard to do a custom template for it either so I needed one now, I would choose Wordpress.
