Hi

I am in the process of designing a website for an artist. She has a website she made using Front Page and likes the fact that she can easily update artwork with it.

I am still pretty new to this and am not sure what to do. I know XHTML, CSS and Javascript but have not a clue about creating a CMS. Is there one out there that is easy to use and cheap (read free) that anyone could recommend? The artist will need to update the art, post on a 'blog', and possibly update art on the home page which I am thinking of creating a Javascript 'slide show' for.

I appreciate any and all suggestions!

Thanks in advance biggrin.gif

Wordpress would probably be the easiest thing to setup. It's REALLY easy to theme and to use.

I agree with Karinne. You might also give Joomla! a try. It's a bit more a CMS than Wordpress..

My friend has used CMS Made Simple and he keeps telling me that it really is easy to use, even for the non technical people so you may want to give it a look.

Thank you! I really had no idea where to start. I tried googling stuff but I really wanted opinions from the experts. smile.gif

I downloaded them all and will play around this weekend (when I get time off from my day job ::sigh:.

You can use http://www.opensourcecms.com/ to try them before installing them by yourself. Some features don't work but at least you can narrow the selection before taking them to the next step.
