I've been working back and forth trying to find the right header for my site. What do you think so far?

I like where you're going, I just don't think you've quite arrived yet! Still comes across as a big red block, maybe a bit more contrast with the arrows against the background would help, or maybe planty things rather than arrows to compliment the other things you are doing on the site.

I kinda like the effect but I dont really like the red color.
You can go for a gradiend that mix red with a darker color like dark red or black!
Just an idea... but I like the arrow effect thing biggrin.gif

Seems like web2.0 smile.gif I like the header. It's going to be a lot of red in the end but without seeing the rest of the site I can't really tell if it's a good or a bad thing. Keep it up and let us see how it advances.

Hey Ryan,

I am looking at your header right now and I have a couple questions and critiques:

1. What is this site going to be for? The colour-scheme right now reminds me of something related to night life in the city. It is very clean and I enjoy the red, but if your entire site is going to have this scheme, it might come off as more night-club than design studio. (I am not sure what it is going to be for, so that is initial reaction).
2. The reversed-words on the header-- they are a little too visible all the way through, try a gradient mask to make them fade in to the red (faded to invisible on the far right). It will help the eye make more relation to it and will be easier to read your real links.
3. Add a little more line-height to your words. You have a fairly large header so far and you should use the space. Also, the eye will be able to track the letters and not confuse any words.
4. Where would a logo go? On the header or above the links (pushing them down?). If on the red, then you might try making the entire header a little shorter (height) and nesting the links at either the top or bottom instead of off-center. Design by grid style.

Keep going and let's see more of the site as you work on it!
-Andy
