I'm sitting some important exams in a few weeks time but my English teacher has decided that she wants the class to write a poem to enter a competition. Now, I love English but I think this assignment is a tad pointless!

Anyway, to stay true to form, I'm planning on writing a fantastic poem. prankster2.gif

I came up with this in the last 30 seconds of class on Friday:

<h1>Social Networking</h1>

<div id="people">
<p>This is where text will go hopefully.</p>

<p>More text here.</p>

<p>And here.</p>
</div>

As you can see I'm planning on laying it out like I write my HTML code. Now for the hard part: does anyone have any idea what I should write between the <p> tags?!

I don't plan on copying, I just need some inspiration.

All this social networking stuff seems a bit <strong> overdone</strong>
I have no social status but <em>even I</em> seem to be overwon

just a flash idea there.

Excellent stuff. I wouldn't like to use any more HTML than I've already posted, though because obviously people would just get really confused.

Fair enough. It depends on the angle you want. My thinking was that you are a geek (Not you, the speaker) so you have no social status.

Bebo, digg, myspace and facebook
my real life doesn't actually get a look
hooked online chatting to my 'friends'
seriously, you try this and the fun never ends
I can post whats happening when i go on Twitter
And even update via that thing called Sniiter

Ahhh, you're good at this.

Your opening line is the exact same as mine! I'm in favor of your geek idea.

Poems is my thing biggrin.gif

But maybe with digg too much I have dugg
on my real life i have pulled the plug
no more walking in the field
now, my del.ici.ous account I yield
fighting to spend time on the pc inside
when the school filtered myspace, part of me died

I remember a time when I sat all alone
I'd stare full of longing and wait by the phone
To hear from my buddies, my pals and my friends
But sometimes I'd hear no one for days end on end

I'll puff out my chest now and strut all around
As I tell you of all these new friends that I've now found
I worry if minutes go by without word
Something that previously was quite absurd

And how is it you ask that I'm in such demand
After many long nights as a one man home band
The answer is one full of blogs, winks and pokes
Where I've turned myself into one social bloke

My day starts with Myspace and tunes of my friends
Then requests found on Facebook, that list never ends
I twitter and snitter and WAYN stops on by
I see friends one liners and friends on the fly

Never before have I felt quite so needed
Since the friends whose invites I've happily heeded
I still sit at home by my un-ringing phone
But social networking means I'm never alone

LOL -- felt a bit inspired there for a sec biggrin.gif
