Web Content Accessibility (WCA) conformance is hard to measure using automatic checkers which should be considered as just helpful tools. The HiSoftware Cynthia Says Portal, a free Web Content Accessibility Checker, is one of the better ones. It is based on the W3C WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) Checklist and indeed displays the Validation results on a depiction of it. Mozilla incorporates Cynthia Says into its Firefox Browser via Tools > Web Developer > Tools > Validate WAI (or US Section 508) - easier yet from the Tools drop-down menu if you have the Chris Pederick Web Developer toolbar installed. Cynthia Says will not insure WCA conformance but it is an excellent aid.

The Yellowpipe Lynx (text only) viewer is an excellent utility that approximates the output of a screen reader and also emulates Search Engine spidering.

Web pages can be manually checked for WCAG Accessibility conformance by disabling images, style sheets (CSS) and, if necessary, page colors. The resultant display emulates how the page renders in Screen Readers and text-only Browsers. It also depicts the structure (including use of headers) of the page.

There's a firefox addon for that wink.gif

Yellowpipe Lynx Viewer Tool 1.2.1

There's also Fangs which is experimental. I remember Mike Hopley giving that link and I tried and it was pretty good.

Thank you for the reminder -- it is activated via right-clicking in the field of web pages.
