I work on a project called Aimhigher which is based in a University. We are going out to tender for a new website for our project and I thought I may as well post it here in case anyone is interested in bidding.
The Aimhigher project is a national project in the UK which is part of the Government's drive to increase participation in higher education. We work in the area of widening participation, so particularly reaching students who have the potential to go to university but might not ordinarily have done so without some intervention or help. We're divided up into a number of regional areas who operate independently (but obviously linking together where possible). Rather than post our current website here, I'm posting sites from three other areas who have recently had new sites so that you can get an idea of the type of site we are looking for (and I refer to the look and content of the sites when I say that, not the coding in some cases!) : http://www.aimhigher-lr.co.uk/ http://www.aimhighersussex.org/ http://www.aimhigheryandh.co.uk/ If anyone is interested in possibly putting in a bid, or wants more info, please PM me and I'll email you the specification document. To avoid wasting anyone's time, I'll just say now that as we are publicly accountable for how we spend our funding, we cannot afford to take the risk of going with a person or organisation who does not already have a strong proven track record in web design/development. I think it is also unlikely that we would go with someone outside of the UK as we would like to be able to meet the person/people face to face. -------------------- Vanessa
