I've recently used WordPress (for the first time) to allow a company to edit its website, but I did not like how it handled standard code input and rich text to HTML. I love the plugin interface and the ease of creating new pages in WordPress, but is there a better CMS for non-blog websites that I should experiment with?

WordPress converted some of my div's in code view to paragraphs, and that is just unacceptable. Short of creating my own rather simple website managers, I know very little about the current trends in this field. Enlighten me!

http://cmsfromscratch.com/ was floating around the forum earlier. I have never tried it but other members have given it some possitive reviews.

For your problems, I think they are more with TInyMCE than Wordpress. Did you make a post on the Wordpress forum to see if there is a fix floating around?

Ryan do you know PHP? I really dislike Wp so I make my own CMS's. If you need some guidance / suggestions let me know what you need help doing. I think I have enough know how to explain CMSs (i hope) to anyone interested. Speaking of CMSs I'm gonna go not be lazy and work on mine...

Yeah, I know PHP. I once started to make my own PHP CMS that I was planning to offer online, but I was working on it when I started learning PHP, so I constantly edited the code as I discovered new techniques and it just never got finished.

Anyone used Drupal? I like the look and features of Symphony, but I haven't looked into XSLT.

Symphony doesn't look like anything that would save you any time what-so-ever... If your going to be using something like that I'd recommend picking up a portable hard drive with some portable software where you can do work from any PC and just take around your hard drive.

I've never used Drupal but my cousin uses it for his High School's website. Seems to hold up nicely for them although it doesn't have the prettiest code output.
