I'm trying to get the logo of my site to be a transparent png however it isn't transparent in IE6.
Normally I would create an image to occupy the entire header, however, I want the logo to be centered and the page main table being liquid, so I'm using a repeating gradient .gif for the background. (hope that makes sense) I've looked for fixs on the net. I found SuperSlight which doesn't seem to fix it and I don't want to add javascript because that just creates more problems. With the SuperSlight I'm adding this to my css... CODE img { filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.AlphaImageLoader(images/logo.png); } All that happens is a javascript popup and the image is still not transparent. Anyone know a practical method? Thanks |

Try this: http://www.alistapart.com/articles/pngopacity/
I think this is the one I'm using.. Please note that this fix will NOT work on background images.. -------------------- |

PNG in Windows IE: How To Use
IE PNG Fix The first one is the one I use all the time (when I don't have background images) The second one apparently works for bg images but I have yet to try it. -------------------- a web design portfolio | web non-sense - REDESIGNED!

The bg image is a gif so I should be able to use either... right?
I'm reading them now. Thanks for the responses. Progress will be reported. This post has been edited by 902: Mar 28 2008, 02:46 PM |

They all produce the javascript pop-up in IE6 which makes it kind of unfriendly. Is there a way to use this with out it generating this javascript warning?
