Ok, I'm not into social networking, but this one might be interesting.. Did any of you ever hear of, or used Yuwie.com?

They say you get paid for everything you do on the site, so when you update your profile, click around on your profile, upload a picture or whatever, it counts as a pageview. They say the more pageviews you get, the more you can make..

Is this a bunch of bull and will it fail, or could this be interesting enough to actually work?

It's interesting and if you have a lot of referal's then it might just be worth using it. However, without referals it seems to me that you will be making so little it is hardly worth participating.

Hey Jason, that's pretty interesting!
I see potential in this. If you look in the web programming blog category it's a little jumbled up, but there was some interesting stuff in there.

If you're creative enough it could be a nice backup for a business and a way of getting traffic to your own site.

I see this...

Totals: 14,332 $0.62

And all I can say is that the guy has 14k page views and he hasn't even made a dollar yet. In pounds that is 31p. Just about enough to buy 1 news paper.

HA.. so you're not impressed huh?

It's probably going to get incredibly spammy as well. They say they won't tolerate it but that's pretty hard to control.

Mark are you going to try it?

Hey guys,

I took a look at the site and the first thing I saw was some guy trying to sell me something. After seeing that I would never use the site... it makes me think right off the bat I'm gonna get scammed somehow. You know, it almost reminds me of an MLM scheme.

I'm sure there will be a bunch of people who sign up though to give it a shot, but I personally don't think it will last very long.

Rich

I think the main redeeming feature is the name 'Yu-wie'. Reminds of the film Bruce almighty where he puts the prayers into a mail application. When he fired up his computer a voice says something like . 'Yuuuuu-weeeeeee'. Something like that, anyway, thats what the domain name makes me think of.

If the site looked better I might be tempted to give a go. As it is, with the almost $0 return on a 1000 page views I just can't bring myself to sign up.

I like the man at the front explaining what the site it. Saved me from reading about it.

I signed up (oh boy), but I'm still skeptical.. Unless I get a whole bunch of people to sign up, I'm not sure it's interesting.

I think you need a big tree to actually make some..
The guy is talking about an RSR of $0.50, but I saw the RSR for February is $0,38...

I can always delete my account if it doesn't work..

That reminds me of the time when I was "paid to surf the net"... You download this app and it basically reads everything that you do on the internet, type, look at, everything. You get like $.001 (yes 1/10th of a cent) per minute you were online and actively viewing websites. After about a month I had made a whopping $6 for surfing the net an average of 5 hours a day Monday - Friday. I was like.. Get paid to surf? Not hardly... So I was interested in how much I was making an hour.... After reviewing the totals.. I made a whopping $.06 an hour! WOW! I was rich!

If you was just doing what you usually do then technically you have made $6 by doing nothing.

Thats not bad.

Ahh true... but the fact remains you can never buy anything nor do online banking on that computer cause it sends all that information to the company... Well I guess you could.. but I never did because I didn't want them seeing that information.

Ok, so I've been giving this a try, and it's not all that bad. It's pretty simple: sign up, join a few clubs, invite a few people and you'll be adding friends every day. If you're not into chatting and meeting new people? No worries, you don't have to send messages.

I started my profile when I started this thread, and I already have 49 friends that generate pageviews for me.

BTW. The layouts are pretty customizable. I made my own in not even half an hour..
